Six Wards explores the historic neighborhoods of Houston, Texas. Each movement reflects the distinct history and way of life in the city’s six wards. Through vivid percussion writing and a prominent piccolo line, the piece celebrates Houston’s character and carries performers and audiences on a dynamic musical journey.
