This short and fiery piece was commissioned by the Nebraska Flute Ensemble for their performance at the 2025 National Flute Association Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. This piece embodies the elegance and ferocity of the phoenix, or any other bird, with its passionate and striking abilities. The piece begins with a groove that, once all the pieces are in place, is sure to get the audience moving along with you. As it nears the end, the bird begins to ascend through a tower, crashing through a skylight to begin its next journey, whatever it may be.
