This piece is based on the concept of guitar pedal delay effects and how one player could loop their parts and play on top adding new voices. Throughout my time as a public facing professional musician I have played in many different genres of ensembles. From jazz, to folk rock, to math rock, to mid-west emo. This piece originally came to me through my band in college “Quincey” which consisted of me, a guitar player with way too many pedal effects, and a drummer. The amount of different tonal and rhythmic ideas we could create with just two musicians was quite extraordinary, so I wanted to bring that to the chamber percussion world. I still take a lot of influence from math rock groups, so if you enjoy this please check out groups such as Covet, Chon, and TTNG.
